Reference made to Paving and Lighting, the improvements mentioned by Joseph Strutt were paid for by the sale of Nuns Green. William Strutt and the other nonconformists and "Presbyterians" were the men in control of Derby's developments and the "Improvement Plan" and were the target of this ballad. |
